Willowbank Raceway Ipswich 2 dates in 2010

1320X will run on the 19-20 March 2010 at Willowbank Raceway Ipswich.  On the 21st March 2010 Willowbank Raceway will feature the Street Machine Magazine Pro Street Event.  This will be a huge Drag Racing weekend at Willowbank Raceway.

1320X will run on the 30-31 July 2010 at Willowbank Raceway Ipswich.

WILLOWBANK RACEWAY TO STAR IN REALITY DRAG RACING SHOW

Willowbank Raceway will be the host of reality drag racing series 1320X in March and July of 2010, after the USA based venture of Los Angeles’ Disruptive Studios approached the track earlier this year.

Responsible for the popular Pullin Television produced series ‘PINKS All Out’, which is currently in its fourth season, Disruptive Studios launched 1320X which focuses on grassroots drag racing at action packed, family friendly events, in July of last year.

Willowbank Raceway Managing Director Steve Bettes said the filming of the 1320X shows at Willowbank Raceway would take place over March and July of 2010.

“With the first filming to open a major weekend of Pro Street and Street & Sportsman Style Racing, the program will extend to three days to incorporate the filming and the Street Machine Magazine Pro Street and Muscle Car Drag Racing Nationals over the weekend of March 19-21.

“This will unquestionably be the Largest Pro Street / Street and Sportsman Style Drag Racing event ever staged in Australia and we are proud to host both events at Willowbank Raceway on the one weekend,” said Bettes.

“Several months ago we met with Steve Pullin, representatives from Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale’s office, and then with Joe and Tatiana Frazzica from 1320X, and to say that we are looking forward to 1320X is the greatest understatement of the year.

“The PINKS All Out TV show and events in the USA are extremely successful and have provided unique television coverage for sportsman drag racers and we believe that 1320X version is going to provide the same exciting opportunity in Australia, for our sportsman drag racers to become the stars on TV.

“This concept is different and it is “out there” and is just what these competitors are looking for.”.

Co-founder of Disruptive Studios Stephen Pullin, an Australian native, said he was looking forward to representing what Australian drag racing has to offer through the show.

“Australia has a drag-racing market which, for the most part, has been untouched and unrecognized by the rest of the world,” said Pullin.

“Being an Australian native myself, I look forward to being able to not only represent this fast-growing sport, but to also showcase Australia’s racers and all of their glory.”

The Australian producers on behalf of Disruptive Studios for the show will be local Frazzica Productions, who are based in Melbourne.

Executive Producer of 1320X Australia, Joe Frazzica, said Frazzica Productions would be responsible for bringing 1320X to Australian TV towards the end of 2010.

“We are delighted to be able to bring this event to Ipswich this year, everyone loves spending time in Queensland and to have multiple events at our home track Willowbank Raceway is a dream come true,” said Frazzica.

“We look forward to showcasing Willowbank Raceway and Queensland to our USA audience and we are expecting a great turnout.”

The 1320X/Street Machine Magazine Pro Street and Muscle Car Nationals is just one of a number of major event weekends scheduled for the Ipswich facility in the 2009/2010 drag racing calendar, including the USA vs AUS Nitro Funny Car challenge as part of Willowbank Raceway’s International New Year Series, to be held over two rounds on January 2 and January 16.

The two events will see USA Funny Car veteran Jack Wyatt take on the Australian Nitro Funny Car racers aboard his 7000hp flame-throwing Dodge Nitro Funny Car – check out www.willowbankraceway.com.au for ticketing, event and track information.

Willowbank Ipswich will be 1320X Australia’s home track!

1320X Australia would like to thank the City of Ipswich and Willowbank Raceway for their support with the 1320X Australia Drag Racing Television Series. We have been in negotiations for months with Ipswich and can now reveal that we will be holding 2 events at Willowbank Ipswich 2010 and that it will be the official home of 1320X Australia. As we now have a home track we will be able to stabilize the series and concentrate on doing what we do best which is a first class television series showcasing our grass roots drag racers and our beautiful country.

“We are thrilled to officially have a home track where we can hold some outstanding grass roots racing. Who doesn’t love spending time in Queensland! We could not be happier with the outcome of our negotiations that have been on-going for the past year. We look forward to some great racing and TV shows to come out of Ipswich our home track.” – Joe Frazzica
